Before submitting a request

CaseTrace is a public awareness platform. Official records remain with the investigating agency, NamUs, NCIC, or the original source.

Correction and removal requests may require verification before changes are made, especially when requests involve case status, identity details, images, agency information, source links, or public visibility.

Request a fix for inaccurate names, dates, locations, case details, source links, or summaries.

Status updates

Request a review when a case has been resolved, changed, updated, or is no longer appropriate to display as active.

Removal review

Request limitation or removal when continued public display may create privacy, safety, accuracy, or family-sensitivity concerns.
