Why CaseTrace Is Beginning to Cover Select Unsolved Homicide Cases

When I started building CaseTrace, the mission was simple: help more people see missing person cases.

The idea was never to become another true crime platform. It wasn't about speculation, theories, or entertainment. It was about giving families another chance to have someone recognize a face or remember a detail simply because the case reached the right person at the right time.

As CaseTrace has grown, one question has come up more and more often:

"Will you ever cover unsolved homicide cases?"

After a lot of thought, the answer is yes—but with a very deliberate approach.

Staying True to Our Mission

This doesn't change what CaseTrace is.

Our focus will always be awareness.

We won't be covering every homicide case, and we won't be turning the platform into a place for speculation or crime discussion. Instead, we'll be highlighting a limited number of unsolved homicide cases where additional public awareness could make a difference.

Many of these cases have faded from public attention over the years, yet families are still waiting for answers.

If CaseTrace can help bring even one of those cases back into the public eye, it's worth the effort.

Respect Comes First

Every case we publish will continue to follow the same principles that guide everything we do:

Respect for victims and their families. Reliance on official or well-documented information. No rumors, accusations, or speculation. A focus on awareness rather than entertainment.

That's the standard we intend to keep.

More Than Just a Case Page

Adding unsolved homicide cases isn't simply about creating another section on the website.

Over the coming weeks and months, we're planning several new features designed to give these cases more visibility and make them easier to share across social media.

We're not quite ready to announce everything yet, but we're excited about what we're building.
