Later the same afternoon, Mr. Austin was seen by his brother-in-law at a bank in Fairfield, CA, where he cashed his $130 paycheck. This was the last confirmed sighting of Martin Austin. Martin failed to report for work at the public library in Fairfield the next day, 03/16/1974. Mr. Austin's vehicle was found abandoned in the parking lot of Linda Mar Shopping Center in Pacifica, CA on 03/17/1974. Foul play is suspected in the disappearance.
