On December 23, 2009, Mr. George Carpenter left his home in San Luis Obispo at approximately 2:00 PM to take his dog to Laguna Lake Park and did not return. He exhibits mild symptoms of dementia and can lose his way in familiar areas. One month after his disappearance, his dog was located alive near Gorda and his vehicle near Fort Hunter Liggett in southern Monterey County. Despite extensive search Mr Carpenter remains missing.
