Santos contacted his family on June 8, 2012 saying he was going to cross the border. According to those in the group, he was left behind on June 13, 2012. He was left at the following location: Falfurreas Rivera, Texas, 3 miles east of Freeway 2191 about 2-3 miles south of Freeway 285 after the closest stop sign. That is the last they heard of him. He had supposedly fainted at one point, and was having trouble breathing. he didn't know where he was or recognize anyone. when the group left him, he was unconscious, with his eyes closed. he had also apparently stripped down to boxers because he was hot.
