Rosa was crossing the border illegally near McAllen, Texas. One person who was with her on the trip said that on June 3rd, 2012, two hours to past McAllen, the group was supposed to board a van on a large hill. There was no more space in the vehicle, and the human trafficker forced Rosa to remain there, indicating that he would later come for her.
