Joseph's vehicle was found parked at the trailhead for the North Country Trail in the western portion of the Tahwuamenon Falls State Park in Michigan's Upper Pennisula. His dog, Chip, was with him when he disappeared. Chip ended up at Joseph's cabin (on the Coppertrail)20 days later, thin, but otherwise in good health. Joespeh has never been seen or heard from since.
