Summary
Richard left his home in Manchester at 1100 hours on September 25, 1984. According to the original investigator, Richard had filled the gas tank of his vehicle shortly before his disappearance; Richard left an unusual amount of food for his dog; Richard had been known to travel through Pennsylvania to reach his parent's home in Tennessee. Richard's vehicle was found abandoned in Tobyhanna Township, PA on September 28, 1984. The vehicle was found unlocked and no sign of Richard was found near the vehicle. Richard was a diagnosed schizophrenic who was apprehensive of strangers and was known to get lost easily. Richard also had severe curvature of the spine and wore lifts in his shoes because of his back problems. There was no activity after September 25, 1984 on Richard's financial accounts and he had less than $5.00 when he left his home.
