Burgess's family last spoke to him in May of 2025 via cellphone. At that time, Burgess had a fight with his family and he said he no longer wanted to have contact with them. His family found that Burgess no longer lived in Reno and left to the area of Santa Cruz, CA. Burgess did not have a vehicle and his cellphone number was no longer in service.
