Summary
On 03/17/25 the juvenile was reporting missing after she did not show up for school. A video showed a female walking towards Van Wagner Road at 5:46am, wearing dark clothing, white sneakers and carrying an umbrella. A family member observed the video and believed the female to be Maya. On 03/17/25, at 7:33am, the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department received a call of a person possibly jumping off the Walkway over the Hudson Bridge. A witness stated that he had been talking to a female when he turned around for a second. When the witness turned back towards the female she was no longer standing on the bridge and he believed she jumped. Recovery efforts to locate a body in the Hudson River were negative. A red umbrella was located on the bridge where the female had been standing. An image of the female from the bridge was shown to a family member but they were unable to say for sure if it was Maya. The clothing description from the witness was similar to what Maya had been observed on camera wearing that day. As of today, 02/13/26, a body has not been recovered. There have been no investigate leads to indicate that Maya is still alive.
