On May 21, 1999 Nash called his father from the Danbury, CT., Department of Motor Vehicles with questions regarding his vehicle registration. On June 3, 1999, Nash's 1994 Dodge Ram Van CT Reg.: 770 CWV, was recovered and towed by Salt Lake City Utah Sheriffs Department as an abandoned motor vehicle. The vehicle was impounded. Nash's parents received notification of the vans recovery on June 6, 1999 at which time a missing person report was filed.
