Trinity was swimming with her family in the area of Emerald Grande Beach near the Destin East Jetty in Destin, Florida. While swimming, Trinity was caught by a current and struggled to stay afloat. Bystanders attempted to assist her, however, she went underwater in this area and did not re-emerge at any point. Extensive search by boat and dive teams were unsuccessful at locating or recovering Trinity.
