12/04/1995, the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office was made aware of an abandoned campsite near Brady’s Camp which is a dispersed camping area located approximately 10 miles east of Quincy, California which is within the Plumas National Forest. Responding Deputies met with the reporting party, a friend of James Edward Erickson of Carson City Nevada, who was missing from the campsite. At the campsite, law enforcement found a Dodge pickup NV License# 622 FWE, as well as other camping gear such as a fully assembled tent, sleeping bags and other camping equipment. Utilizing the vehicle information, Law Enforcement was able to get in touch with the family of Erickson who reported they had not seen or spoken with Erickson since August of 1995. Plumas National Forest personnel also on scene reported they had noticed the camp while on patrol a week prior and it did not appear anything had been disturbed or moved since that time. The deputy also noted, he was in the area approximately a month prior and noticed the camp. The deputy reported the camp appeared to be undisturbed from his last visit.
