On July 1, 1982, Mr. Eugene Pavey (MP100421) and his wife, Melanie Pavey, were last seen leaving Crandon Beach Marina, in Miami, Florida. The pair were in a navy-blue Cigarette boat. Their destination was Great Abaco Islands, Bahamas, but they did not make it to the island and their boat was never found. It is believed that they may have stopped at Port Everglades Marina, in Ft. Lauderdale, the following days after leaving Miami.
