Summary
MP was traveling through Europe and Africa in 1971. Last contact was a written letter to his family advising he was sailing on a 23' foot boat named the "Hobo" from Sal Island in the Cape Verde Islands on 2/12/72 with boat owner and family. They planned to sail to Barbados Island then on to Miami FL via the Bahamas. MP was never seen from again. The boat owner returned to the US and told police he dropped the MP off at Port Verde in Africa.
