Summary
Grant Schmidt's wife reported that he left home at 6:30pm on 4-7-1989 to visit friends in Beaverton but never made it to the friend's house. He did not show up for work on 4-10-89 and has not called any friends or family. His vehicle was abandoned on property off Burkhalter Road in Hillsboro, Oregon. A witness reported that on 4-7-89 at about 7:30 pm a black full-sized Chevrolet Blazer (Oregon License DPT752) drove up his 500-foot driveway. Before reaching the residence, the vehicle took off across the corner of the neighbor's property, crashing through the brush and coming to rest over the ridge against some vine maples. The driver left the scene and nobody at the residence was able to determine who the driver was. The vehicle was unlocked with the keys in the ignition.
