Brendan was last seen at the Soldotna Airport, possibly enroute to Wasilla in a green, white and red PA18 Piper Super Cub with tail number N444LZ. His radar track on his airplane ended in the middle of the inlet at about 0230 hours on 10-13-2012. On 10-30-2013 NTSB confirmed that a airplane tire that washed up on shore in Kodiak was from Brendan's airplane.
