Last seen at 10:00 a.m. onboard his boat as he left to go fishing. at 6:00 p.m. the boat, a 21' Sea Fox, was found idling in gear off the Sabbath Home Road area of Holden Beach with no sign of Dosher. The USCO searched for 24 hours before calling off the search.
