Maritza called family on May 8th, saying that she had already crossed the river and was in McAllen, Texas. She said she’d been there a week already, waiting to continue. The group was going to walk to Houston from there. Someone in the group told the family that she could not keep walking and was left behind. She was supposedly left on HWY 281, under bridge 69.
