Janet and her husband, Robert Kirkup had been traveling in their RV when Robert wrote their family and told them Janet had run off with another man. He said he last saw her when he dropped her off at an Airport Hotel outside of Buffalo, NY. After being pressed by law enforcement and eventually one of his daughters, Robert Kirkup confessed to strangling Janet and burying her body in a wooded area outside Buffalo, NY.
