On the evening of 11/07/1981, Amber Scholz went to a party in Rock Springs with her boyfriend and another friend. She left the party around 3:00 - 3:30 AM with another friend who escorted her back to her residence at Plaza Court Apartments. That was the last reported sighting of Amber. There was no sign of a struggle or forced entry into her home. Her purse and wallet were found in the kitchen, along with a payroll check from her job at a local cleaning service. Investigators determined that she was probably preparing her monthly budget when she left her apartment. Amber was engaged in a custody battle over her son with her ex-boyfriend at the time of her disappearance.
