In 1978, Cherie Wyant walked out of an unknown children's home or detention facility in San Bernardino County. She was involved in a car accident and walked out of an unknown California hospital. She had previously spent some time in a Clark County, Washington foster home and had run away from a girl's group home in Corbett, Oregon in late May of 1978.
