Fields was last seen in Perquimans County, North Carolina on 07/06/02. Fields pickup truck was found on 09/28/02 abandoned in a wooded area in Gates County, North Carolina not far from his home. It is believed that he was living in his truck in an area of Pasqoutank County known as The Gold Mine just before his disappearance. His case remains unsolved.
