Circumstance of disappearance: On 05-22-1988, at approximately 9:30pm, Elizabeth Godwin went to bed. She lived with her daughter and her husband . They left the residence some time after 11:00 pm to pick up her husband at work in Nags Head. They returned home around 1:00am and went to bed. On 05-23-1988 at approximately 10:00 am she went to her mothers room and her mother was not there.
