Martin has been missing since 05/01/1980. An AVIS rental vehicle used by Martin was returned to Huntsville, Alabama ten days later on 06/04/1980. Mileage on the vehicle (1,700 miles) indicated that the vehicle was not driven directly to Alabama from Connecticut. Miller gave a two-week notification to his last employer and told friends he was going to travel to California. Miller left behind two vehicles at his residence. He also gave away a bicycle to a friend.
