Nikole Betterson, 2

Nikole was last seen by her grandparents around Christmas time in 1977 when her father announced that he and his new girlfriend were moving out West. There were conflicting accounts as to whether their intended destination was California or Las Vegas, Nevada. The grandparents never heard from any of them again. In 1997, the father and then girlfriend, who were now married, were found living in poverty and poor health in Las Vegas, but there was no trace of Nikole and no paper trail for her. Las Vegas police department, opened an investigation, checking school, court, police, licensure and adoption records. Their investigation turned up no evidence that Nikole was alive after she left Michigan. In November 1997, Nikole's father killed his wife and himself leaving no information as to Nikole's whereabouts. Foul play is suspected in Nikole's case; it remains unsolved.
