David and two friends were being pursued by the St. Ann Police Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol when the vehicle crashed on the Blanchette Bridge on Interstate 70 in St. Charles, MO around 2:30am on 10/29/2006. The police were in a high speed pursuit of the vehicle because they had noticed the vehicle weaving and suspected the driver to be impaired. Following the accident, an individual exited the vehicle, climbed over the bridge rail, onto a ladder, to the catwalk below, and stood up against a girder.
