On April 23, 2009, Amparo went to a doctor's appointment (she was 8 1/2 months pregnant at the time) on Cedar Street in Laredo. She disappeared after she left the clinic. Her car was found in the clinic parking lot with the window and door open. Her cell phone was also in the car. She has not been seen since.
