On April 24, 2020, Baker's friends and family last heard from her. On April 25, 2020, Baker's car was located on East Beach Road by Lake Crescent, in Olympic National Park. Inside the vehicle, Baker's wallet, cell phone, her lawyer's business card, and a receipt were neatly arranged. Baker's red kayak, with her name tag on it, was located on Lake Crescent on the opposite shore of her vehicle. Search teams spent 9 days searching the area on foot, by boat, and by air. A dive team searched the area near Baker's vehicle. The lake is between 400 and 600 feet deep.
