On May 20th, 2015, McCrory was seen in the yard of a mobile home. McCrory ran inside the trailer, fled through the back door, and into the wooded area behind the trailer park. Officers observed a blood trail, leading to a heavily wooded area off Sweet Home Church Road. He was also reportedly bleeding as officers state he left a blood trail behind which they followed in their search. Items of clothing possibly belonging to McCrory were recovered in the woods during the search for him but he was not located.
