On 9-11-76, Ronald Choo left home for a shoreline fishing trip somewhere in the Pupukea area. Ronald failed to return home, and on 9-12-76, his wife located his vehicle parked unattended on Ke Iki Road in Haleiwa. Ronald's wife conducted a search of the beach area nearby, and found Ronald's tackle box on the beach with his keys inside. The Honolulu Fire Department was notified and conducted a search for Ronald, and they were only able to locate one of his slippers on the beach.
