On 8-16-1972, Moses KAHIAPO and his friend, Arthur ALLEN (MP132888), failed to return from a fishing trip, and both have not been seen or heard from since. KAHIAPO and ALLEN launched their 17' boat from the Heeia Kea Pier in Kaneohe, and planned to troll for aku 15-20 miles offshore. An extensive search was conducted, and on 10-3-1972, the United States Coast Guard recovered their abandoned boat at sea.
