Briggs left Nashville, TN and returned to his home in Columbia, TN. Once Briggs was home, he left the residence in his vehicle. Briggs' vehicle was recovered in a beach access parking lot in Destin Florida on 10/04/2022 by Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office. Investigators there located video of Briggs parking the vehicle at 2248 hours on 09/30/2022, exiting the vehicle and walking onto to the beach (east) out of sight of the camera. Arial searches and cadaver dog searches were conducted with no results.
