On 3/10/81, Kruip's mother reported him missing to the Fullerton Police Department. She reported last seeing Kruip on 7/30/80 when he left the residence and possibly traveled to the San Diego area by train. His vehicle was located at the train station in Fullerton and they received a letter sometime later from Kruip postmarked 7/31/80 from Solano Beach stating that he was all right but had to get away for awhile and may be travelling to Mexico. That is the last communication the family received.
