Floyd Dorsey
Monument Peak, ID

Floyd Dorsey was hunting on the opening day of deer season near Monument Peak west of Oakley when he got caught in an unexpected blizzard. He had gone hunting with school friends and some of their parents and was last seen when he stopped at a camp near Pickett's Corral, about 500 yards from his own camp. Dorsey had shot a deer with a borrowed rifle and had gone to retrieve the animal. A search party found the deer he shot, but Dorsey was never located.
