Leslie was aboard the tug boat Gail S, which sank 130 miles north of Cold Bay. He jumped into the water and was located deceased by another crew member. The crew member was unable to hold onto Leslie and he was last seen floating in eight foot seas. Searches of the area were unsuccessful in locating him.
