On January 26, 1985 Jess Gilbert and Vernon Nash left together on a 24’ vessel to go shark fishing. Gilbert and Nash were supposed to return on January 29, 1985 but did not. The vessel and the men were never found. They are both presumed lost at sea. This case was transferred from the St. Petersburg Beach Police Department to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office in 2013 due to consolidation. This case is associated with MP59021, Vernon Nash.
