On January 26, 1985, Vernon Nash left with Jess Gilbert on a 24’ vessel to go shark fishing. Nash and Gilbert were supposed to return on January 29, 1985, but did not. The vessel and the men were never found. Nash and Gilbert are both presumed lost at sea. This case was transferred from the St. Petersburg Beach Police Department to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office in 2013 due to consolidation. This case is associated with MP59023, Jess Gilbert.
