Samantha set out on a solo day hike at Vesper Peak on August 1 and has not been seen since. She is an avid hiker and has done this hike several times. She was last seen near the summit of the difficult, 5-mile trail to Vesper, east of Granite Falls along the Mountain Loop Highway. Samantha was to contact her boyfriend around 6pm when she was on her way home. When she didn’t call, he went to the area to search for her and contacted the ranger station. Extensive searches have been conducted in the area.
