Barmaki reportedly left his home in Buena Park, where he worked as a real estate agent on 4/30/2016. Investigators determined he went to a Pet Store in Encinitas, about 75 miles south, and a Target and gas station in National City. The following day, his car was discovered by border patrol agents in a remote and desolate area on the Mexican border along highway 80 near welcome sign to Jacumba Hot Springs, CA.
