Jaime is believed to have crossed from Mexico into the U.S. by crossing the Rio Grande with a group. His last communication was via mobile phone, and he had advised family members he had crossed into Texas and had walked about two days with a group, before being left behind because he had blisters on his feet and could no longer keep up with the group. He had advised he had water and other supplies and did not appear to be distressed.
