Charles Gay was last seen at a Skagway hostel on 09/26/2000. Gay, who is a geologist, told the hostel manager he was heading to Upper Dewey Lakes to look for rocks. He was not believed to have had overnight gear with him. Extensive searches of the area were unsuccessful in locating him.
