Mary was 37 when she disappeared from Palmer, Alaska on September 11th, 1977. She was on a hunting trip with companions in Palmer in the Granite Creek area when she vanished. She fell off of her horse while crossing the river and was swept away in the current. Her friends were unable to rescue her and she has never been found.
