It was reported that Melgar-Perez may have been intoxicated the night before, and that he fell from a third-floor apartment balcony, and left the area on foot. Since that time, family and friends reported not having any contact with Melgar-Perez which they further reported was unusual. Co-workers of Melgar-Perez also stated that Melgar-Perez had not reported for work. Investigators and officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department and the Fort Wayne Fire Department have canvassed the area of South Bridge Apartments, the neighboring complex of Prestwick Square Apartments, and along the Rivergreenway in search of Melgar-Perez.
